Make it so
THE British TV company Home Media Networks surveyed a thousand people asking which television show they would like to see return to the box.
Which is the most missed show? Star Trek of course! But not fucking Enterprise, you suck Enterprise, YOU SUCK!
But looking through the list, I am somewhat disconcerted:
What kind of crazy-ass logic is that? Why could he time travel only within his own lifetime? Am I asking too many questions in this post? Anyway, there was clearly some genetic influence to his time travel as once he went back in time so far that he was in the American Civil War - because you see he travelled within his grandfather's lifetime. How this is possible, I don't know. I'd already given Belisarius the benefit of the doubt about the whole time-travel-in-his-own-life-thing. Then he freed his slave and the slave said Oh Happy Days! and he became Martin Luther King's dad and and and well..the rest is history. Excellent.
In the entire history of spoken language, no word has ever had as much emotion as that 'home' at the end of the intro.

A-Team and Seinfeld, fine choices. My personal nomination for a show that doesn't get repeated nearly enough is QUANTUM LEAP. Amazing how one man can traverse the central roles in both one of the coolest and one of the lamest shows of my lifetime.

Star Trek belongs there, but I think its time Star Trek was put to death. Gassed. Personally, I think the best show on television right now is Battlestar Galactica. And I mean BEST show, not best sci fi or best fantasy show. Plus the guy who runs the show was responsible for DS9, the best star trek show after the original series.
After BSG, The Shield is the best show on TV.
Joss Whedon never interested me. For some reason people seem to think Whedon is the proper successor to Rodenberry and his shows are the shit. To me, he's just a one trick pony.
The rest of the shows I couldn't care less. Nothing ever happens in TVland, and everyone's back to the same shit day after day.
For some reason, Indian people are obsessed with Friends. I can't tell you how many Indians (ABCD's and actual Indians) I've met who love that show to death.

BSG never took off in a big way here. I'm not a sci-fi nut, despite my overt geekiness, and have found shows like BSG and Stargate (which are often shown together over here) a bit inaccessible. The reason I like TREK so much is that it's pretty light-hearted, there's a lot of humour. I don't like dry shows.
For me, the best show on TV (exempting The Simpsons, which, despite a slump, remains in a different category) is CSI. The first few series especially were phenomenal. It was the only TV I watched. Now I don't really watch anything, but if it's on and I'm there, I'll watch. Not the spin-offs, mind you. But CSI is fucking amazing. Grissom is, without doubt, one of the greatest heroes geeks could ever wish for.
Bollocks to Friends. I don't mind it and it was occasionally very funny, but man it went on too long. I don't think I know anyone who really loves that show, but I know loads of people in India do. It's far more internationally accessible than the infinitely funnier Frasier or Seinfeld. Or Futurama for that matter - just too many gags that not enough people got, extreme geekazoid humour.

Personally Stargate has been inaccessible to me more than BSG perhaps. I just don't get the show anymore, its just like Star Trek but without the giant ass ships. Not that they're in a utopian world but the drama isn't there anymore. It should've been cancelled a long time ago.

One interpretation would be that its from the viewpoint of countries that have had war waged on them, and its an allegory (not intended by the creators of course) of the Iraqi war.
Like one of the episodes say: You can't go back home again.
